What is Line B? Line B is a probe-style TDLAS module designed for direct insertion into pipelines. It is specifically engineered to operate in negative-pressure environments (20-80 kPa abs) common in coal mine gas drainage headers, eliminating the need for sampling pumps and filters.
Designed for the Pipeline
In gas drainage applications, traditional sensors fail due to condensation, dust, and the complexity of sampling from negative-pressure lines. Line B solves this by moving the measurement into the pipe. The 40 mm flow-through window allows the gas to be measured in situ, exactly where it flows.

Why Direct Insertion Matters
- No Sampling Pump: Eliminates the most common failure point in gas drainage monitoring.
- Instant Response: Measurement happens in the pipeline, not at the end of a 10-meter sampling line.
- Maintenance Free: No filters to clean, no water traps to empty.
- Robust Optics: 2f/1f signal processing compensates for window contamination up to 50% transmission loss.
